Poetry collection synopsis: Our Nation Sits In the Sky


Chelsea Willams is an emerging poet, screenwriter, photographer, and filmmaker from Chicago, IL. As a multidisciplinary artist, she believes the purpose of art and storytelling is to simultaneously reflect what the world is and to create the world. Her poems have been published in issues of the winter 2018 High Shelf Press and the Anthology In Absentia: Poems for the Pandemic. Her poem “After Sam Cooke” was selected as a finalist for the 2020 Joy Bale Boone Poetry Prize. Chelsea received her BFA in Dramatic Writing from NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
