Apply for Catapult’s Winter 2021 Digital Publishing Fellowship!

Catapult is looking for a full-time editorial and research fellow to work on a new digital resource for writers. This position will begin in January 2021 and will last six months.

Our fellow will work with Catapult’s magazine team and classes program to support our daily publishing efforts and create new educational resources for our students and readers. The ideal fellowship candidate will be creative, organized, well-read, passionate about digital publishing, and adept at using various social media platforms and Google Drive/Docs/Sheets. Photo editing skills and/or experience with Adobe Suites are a plus, but not required. A college degree is not required.

Responsibilities will include:

• researching writing and educational opportunities

• writing short, blog-style articles

• creating monthly newsletter content

• social media tasks (scheduling, publishing, and engagement)

• art/image research

• participation in weekly editorial and other relevant meetings

The position is full-time, and the pay is $18/hour. Applicants can be located anywhere in the U.S., but must have access to the internet and be able to work from 10 am - 6 pm ET, Monday through Friday.

The fellow will have the opportunity to learn skills such as proofreading, editing, and copy-editing, and to participate in cross-company meetings at Catapult, which includes magazine and books editorial, marketing, publicity, production, and design teams. The magazine editorial and classes teams are committed to providing a challenging, supportive, and rewarding fellowship experience that will build on what our fellow brings to the position while encouraging the development of new marketable skills. Every possible effort will be made to help the fellow grow in their role and be better positioned to pursue their immediate and long-term professional goals.
