The Alpine Fellowship Poetry Prize 2023

The 2023 Alpine Fellowship Poetry Prize is for the best poetry on the theme of flourishing. The winner will receive a cash prize, and second and third place will receive money for travel to attend a 2023 symposium in Fjällnäs, Sweden from August 10th to 13th.

Prize: £3,000 ($3717) cash prize for first place, £1,000 ($1239) travel expense for second place, £1,000 travel expense for third place.

Ambroggio Prize

The Ambroggio Prize is for a book-length poetry manuscript originally written in Spanish with an English translation.

Fee: Not listed

Prize: $1,000 and publication by the University of Arizona Press for first place.

Deadline: February 15, 2023

Arc Poem of the Year

Arc Poetry Magazine’s Poem of the Year award accepts entries from around the world and gives cash prizes to the winner and the runner-up.

Fee: $35 CDN ($26 USD)

Prize: $5,000 ($3,734 USD) for first place and $500 ($374 USD) for an honorable mention. Shortlisted entries for the Poem of the Year will be published online and in a print issue of Arc, and will receive page-rate payment for publication.

Deadline: February 1, 2023

The Fish Poetry Prize

The Fish Poetry Prize was established in 2006. Billy Collins will judge this year’s contest.

Fee: €14 ($15)

Prize: €1,000 ($1,088) for first place, €300 ($326) and a week in residence at Anam Cara Writers and Artists Retreat for second place, €300 for third place, publication in the Fish Anthology 2023 for the top ten poems.

Deadline: March 31, 2023

The Florida Review 2023 Editors’ Award in Poetry

Each year between January 1 and April 15, The Florida Review accepts submissions to three Editor’s Prizes in Fiction, Creative Nonfiction, and Poetry.

Fee: $20

Prize: $1,000 and publication for first place.

Frontier Poetry 2023 Hurt & Healing Prize

This year, Frontier Poetry is launching its Hurt and Healing Prize for emerging poets with no more than two full-length collections published at the time of submission. The contest will be judged by Andrés Cerpa.

Prize: $3000 and publication for first place, $300 for second place, $200 for third place.

Kent & Sussex Poetry Society Open Poetry Competition, 2023

Kent & Sussex Poetry Society Open Poetry Competition is open to poems from all over the world. This year, the competition will be judged by Jonathan Edwards.

Prize: £1000 ($1,239) for first place, £300 ($372) for second place, £100 ($124) for third place, £50 ($62) for four honorable mentions.

Magma 2022/23 Poetry Competition

Magma 2022/23 Poetry Competition is open in two categories this year (The Judge’s Prize and The Editors’ Prize). Both have the same deadline and prizes. Victoria Kennefick will judge The Judge’s Prize and a panel of Magma Editors will judge The Editors’ Prize.
