Ten Chapbook Contests Open for Submissions

If you’re a writer with a small collection of poetry, essays, fiction, or hybrid work, enter these contests for a chance to win publication, a cash prize, and more.

Although the history of chapbooks goes back centuries, they have become increasingly popular recently. Many small presses now publish chapbooks, often through contests that include a cash prize or royalties. Below, we’ve found ten chapbook contests that are currently open for submissions!

Prize: Publication, $600, and 20 complimentary copies


Prize: Publication, $750, and 20 complimentary copies (winners will also have select poems from their chapbooks published in Diode Poetry Journal)


Prize: Publication, $1,500, and a royalty contract
